Tucked away in the hillside of Sonoma County, this Cannabis Cup was similar to a wine country experience with a Northern California oasis backdrop buzzing with chill vibes and heady herb. On this bright and sunny June weekend, Cannabis Cup goers were treated to headline performances by The Tahoes, Fortunate Youth, Sublime with Rome and The Wailers. You could also find yourself immersed in one of the many panel discussions covering a wide range of cannabis related topics. In addition to the Veteran’s panel discussion, there were industry experts discussing the future of concentrates, cultivation & extraction technologies, as well as a live cannabis edible cooking class.
The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree, and by being in NorCal amidst some of the most exotic flower strains in the world, it wouldn’t be too far fetched to find yourself in the presence of a Master Cultivator. This particular cup brought out a few masters, starring off with the legend, Mr. Crockett, followed by Mr. Sherbinski and The Cookie Monster. As for the flower, Blueberry Jack by Crockett Family Farms, Strawnana by Alien Labs, Biaco Sherbert by Sherbinski, and some classic Lemon Tree and cOokies by The Cookie Monster. Had the pleasure to chief one with the Cookie Monster and fellas behind Artisan Canna Cigars; hand rolled Californian cigars.
The 2017 Northern California Cannabis Cup took place on the Sonoma County Fairgrounds, which is home to the annual traditions of grape stomping competitions as well as the upcoming Emerald Cup planned for December 9th & 10th, 2017. As for the High Times Cannabis Cup circuit, they’ve planned stops in Michigan, Rhode Island and are looking to make appearances in Oregon, Jamaica and Canada… Big ups… Jamaica Cup sounds so dope.
